Finding Permanent Adoptive Families for Children in Texas
Lonestar Social Services in Austin, TX is a full-service, Texas-licensed adoption and foster family agency established in 2012. We assist in finding permanent adoptive families for the thousands of Texas children who are currently in foster care. In addition, we provide short-term care to children who have been temporarily removed from their biological parents.
An Overview of What We Do
Our experienced professional staff, dedicated donors, and volunteers are working together to help children find the ideal families to take care of them. Here are some of the services we offer to prospective foster or adoptive families:
Foster Care Services
Adopting From Foster Care

We work in partnership with more than 35 Texas counties to find loving, permanent adoptive families for foster children of different ages. Some of these kids are dependents of the juvenile court, removed from their biological parents due to abuse or neglect. They come from a variety of ethnicities including Caucasian, African American, Hispanic, and multiracial backgrounds.
We offer a full range of services for adoptive parents, including Concurrent Planning and Adoptive Matching Programs. The programs depend on the age range of the child you want to adopt and the level of risk you are willing to take. With our experienced attorneys, we will be with you through the entire adoption process, from certification and home study to the finalization of your adoption.
Our programs are designed to let adoptive parents explore and consider many options in planning for adoption. We can discuss all aspects of adopting at a confidential one-on-one personal orientation. You can schedule this meeting in your home or at our Austin office.
Foster Care
We consider foster parents as part of our team. Our organization refers to them as “professional parents.” Foster families provide children with the education, stability, skills, and support they need. These families care for abused and neglected children who can be best helped in a family setting augmented with professional services.
We make it a point to support each family with additional mental health, educational, recreational, and treatment resources. All of our foster parents are certified by Lonestar Social Services to provide foster care and accept children placed through our agency.
We offer one-on-one personal interviews to prospective foster parents at their convenience. For a detailed look at foster parent requirements and the placement process, please view our topics on foster care:
